About

iTeach has an obvious primary meaning, which is "I teach". However, one can also see an underlying meaning, that of "IT each", which could be interpreted as a shortened form of "IT for each", or more precisely, "IT for everyone". This emphasizes the platform's goal: to make computer science accessible to all.

The story began with a desire to introduce the world of programming to friends and family. While there are various sites offering different approaches, none seemed entirely satisfactory to us. Therefore, we decided to create a platform that is as accessible as possible for beginners while being interactive enough to facilitate effective knowledge retention and ensure a steady and rapid progression.

We also took the opportunity to align our personal values, often overlooked to our liking, with these ideals. This is why iTeach revolves around four main pillars that we will describe: free nature, interactivity, eco-responsibility, and privacy.

Free nature

The free nature of iTeach is of paramount importance to us as it appears crucial in encouraging newcomers to take the leap. When exploring a curiosity or contemplating a career change in a trending field, it is easy to feel destabilized.

Unfortunately, numerous platforms exhibit prohibitive drawbacks: overly theoretical content, incomplete courses, partial free access or entirely paid courses, complexity unsuitable for beginners, mediocre quality, and more. We strive to address these issues by offering a course of the highest quality while maintaining this free nature.

Our economic model relies solely on donations, a perhaps less financially viable approach but one that aligns better with our values and the goals we aim to achieve with this platform.

Interactivity

When delving into a new field like programming, one might assume that absorbing a substantial amount of information and setting up a complex working environment is necessary. While this is often true, we strive to minimize the constraints associated with your learning to make the process as seamless as possible.

In a more traditional learning setting, you would find yourself navigating between different websites, installing various software, and juggling between theory and personal projects to apply your knowledge. At iTeach, we add a sufficient layer of abstraction to allow you to focus on the essentials. You can learn while practicing directly on the platform, without the need for additional software or websites.

On each page, you have the opportunity to acquire theoretical knowledge, practice with code snippets, and reinforce your learning with a quiz.

Eco-responsibility

Crucial for us, eco-responsibility is unfortunately often overlooked, especially in the context of applications. While it may not be immediately apparent, several mechanisms can be implemented to move towards a more environmentally friendly application. We seek to challenge the common belief that individual actions have no significant impact, as they would not lead to any observable macroscopic changes.

However, it is this line of reasoning that results in a widespread abdication of responsibility, discouraging any attempts to act in favor of ecology. We also believe that it is not necessary to adopt an entirely eco-friendly lifestyle; instead, we believe that every action counts, regardless of its magnitude. Hence, from the early stages of a beginner's training, we incorporate the concepts of eco conception through a dedicated course.

As for iTeach, we strive to lead by example by pushing our thinking to the maximum. The only media on the site is that displayed on this page, and we limit interactions requiring bandwidth or storage as much as possible: using CSS instead of images, no login system, local storage of statistics, no database, etc. To provide a representative measure, browsing all pages of the iTeach application requires less bandwidth than watching a 3-second 1080p video.

Privacy

One of the values that is often neglected or, worse, circumvented, is privacy. Although significantly reinforced since the implementation of the GDPR, privacy remains a critical point for most applications, as the majority of profits come either from the paid nature of content or from the possibility of free access through the collection of user data for analytical and advertising purposes.

We do not want iTeach's free nature to come at the expense of your privacy. That's why we assure you that no data collection is carried out. The absence of a database further supports this claim, as the only data processed by the application is stored locally and does not transit over the web.

Who supported us?

We express our gratitude to all those who have supported iTeach and contributed to its development, each in their own way. Their support touches us deeply, and we are delighted to see that the dedication we put into this project is shared by others.
